On Tuesday, September 3, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced the rollout of New Mexico’s Home Energy Rebates program thanks to investments from the Biden-Harris Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act.

The nature crisis and the climate crisis are inextricably linked. Conserving our land and water, and at the same time supporting communities in the necessary and inevitable transition away from dependence on fossil fuels, are priorities that the previous administration not only ignored, but moved backwards on.
New Mexico held the 2024 primary elections for federal, state and local offices. Leading up to the primaries, CVNM, through its coordinated political action committee CVNM Action Fund, supported candidates with commitments to taking bold action on climate, advancing conservation policies, and upholding democracy.
Environmental issues have always been social justice issues. From toxic dumping and exploitation to land removal and annexation, frontline communities – especially Indigenous, rural, and communities of color – have borne the brunt of environmental injustice.
