Now that we have elected the largest pro-conservation majority in the New Mexico legislature in recent memory and a pro-conservation Governor, we have the most promising opportunity in a generation to pass bold policies to protect our air, land, water and communities. RSVP to join us!
We need you!
The urgency couldn’t be greater. A deeply committed alliance of environmental, heath, community and social justice organizations has come together in the effort to pass game-changing legislation for the health of our planet, now!
Your advocacy during and leading up to the 2019 NM legislative session can make the difference between a genuinely progressive and effective environmental platform or more of the same. This is our chance to enact state-level protections that counteract those being stripped by the Trump administration.
Commit to the efforts by attending local grassroots advocacy events throughout the state, including:
- Advocacy/lobby training – early January, throughout the state (see below)
- Clean Energy Conference – January 28 (agenda), featuring New Mexico environmental journalist Laura Paskus and Destiny Watford, a Goldman Environmental Prize winner who in high school led the fight to stop a trash-burning incinerator in her community.
- Clean Energy Activist Day – January 29
- Lands, Water, and Wildlife Day at the Roundhouse – February 13
Our alliance is developing advocacy teams to engage members and give our bold agenda the best chance of success. We will help you every step of the way so you are empowered, informed, and prepared to play a key role in championing climate, water, wildlife and land protection legislation.
If you have questions, please write to info@cvnm.org.
