Santa Fe, N.M. – In response to Land Commissioner Aubrey Dunn’s proposal to seize federal mineral rights (SB 182) that has been introduced at the NM State Legislature, Conservation Voters New Mexico (CVNM) Political and Legislative Director Ben Shelton released the following statement:
“Unfortunately, Commissioner Dunn’s proposal will take more away from New Mexican children than it offers. Leveraging a healthy environment and safe climate against an uncertain funding plan that will take decades to come to fruition isn’t a plan, it’s a stunt.”
