CVNM Endorses Stephanie Telles Ahead of December 9th Runoff Election

[Santa Fe] – Today, Conservation Voters New Mexico (CVNM) issued an endorsement for Albuquerque City Council candidate Stephanie Telles ahead of the city’s December 9th runoff election. The endorsement follows a questionnaire process and thorough vetting by staff and board members. Telles is running against land developer Joshua Neal in their bid to represent District 1 on the City Council.

“We are proud to stand with Stephanie Telles in her run to represent District 1 on the City Council,” stated John Martinez, CVNM Political Director and Albuquerque resident. “Her campaign centers government accountability and community-values, and she is committed to ensuring the decisions made balance long-term environmental sustainability and public well-being. At a time when our community is experiencing drought, record heat, and a high cost of living, we need creative solutions that will uplift and protect those most at risk. Telles is the right choice to move Albuquerque forward.”

Telles joins two other CVNM endorsed candidates running for election in the December 9th runoff. CVNM has issued endorsements for Tim Keller for Mayor and Teresa Garcia for City Council District 3.

“With so much at stake, who we elect to represent our city will have a substantial impact on our quality of life in the next few years,” stated Molly Taylor, CVNM Chief Operating Officer and Albuquerque resident. “As the Trump Administration dismantles critical protections and programs that directly serve our community, we must have leaders that will do all they can to protect us. We stand with City Council candidates Stephanie Telles (District 1) and Teresa Garcia (District 3), and Mayoral candidate Tim Keller, and urge voters to make their voice heard at the polls on December 9th.”
