CVNM Applauds Gov. Lujan Grisham’s Leadership on Climate Change

Santa Fe, N.M.— Today, the New Mexico Environment Department and Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department released a report on their progress to meet ambitious climate goals set by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in her third executive order. The report outlines the tremendous progress that has been made in the administration’s first eleven months. In response, Conservation Voters New Mexico Political & Legislative Director Ben Shelton released the following statement:

“Voters sent a bold message in 2018 by electing a governor and legislators who campaigned on moving New Mexico into the future with clean energy initiatives and climate action. The executive order on climate change laid out a vision for an equitable transition to clean energy and concrete steps to address the impacts of climate change already being felt in our communities. The report released today shows tremendous progress toward that vision. We applaud Lujan Grisham’s administration for making New Mexico’s health, environment and a durable economy top priorities. We look forward to engaging with the administration as it continues to evolve what is possible for our state and create solutions for New Mexicans.”
