As we head into the season of gratitude and holiday celebration with our communities – families, friends, neighbors and other loved ones – we thank YOU, our Conservation Voters community, for giving to the causes that touch your heart.
We hope CVNM is one of those causes.
Now that the election results are clear and New Mexico has a strong mandate from voters who elected a slate of pro-conservation candidates across the state, the hard work begins on legislative action to protect our landscapes and the people who call them home.
With your support, CVNM is positioned to act swiftly on the groundwork we’ve laid this past summer – and for many years leading up to this moment – to pass a bold climate bill in the 2023 legislative session.
With our allies and partners, we’re focused on advocating for a historic bill that centers the needs and resources of communities most impacted by climate pollution – like the towns and villages ravaged by this summer’s destructive wildfires – in legislating solutions.
The bill – a policy framework that lays out the path from Governor Lujan Grisham’s 2019 Executive Order on climate to a statewide zero-emission economy – must be comprehensive, durable (codified into state law), and enforceable, with robust metrics to track progress toward the clean energy goal.
Will you please pitch in today to seize this moment to move the work forward?
If you’ve just sent a contribution in, thank you! If you haven’t yet and you’re able to support CVNM’s fierce advocacy work through the session, and help amplify the voice in the Roundhouse of communities affected by climate pollution, please make a gift today>>.
Thank you for helping secure a clean and safe future for our loved ones and our future generations.
With gratitude,
Molly Taylor
CVNM Deputy Director
